HELP! I need ideas

Hello everyone, my next assignment is to create a blog about how I could use this blog in my 5th grade all subjects classroom.  Being so new at this, I started off using this as a hook to get the students to even go to my blog and read it.  I offered extra credit, and also tried to get some information about what they consider treasures.  We are going to be writing a story about our personal treasures.  I figured this would be a great way to get them use to coming and reading the blog and a great way to get some ideas for writing.  I think maybe I can use this for a social studies civil war assignment.  We will be doing a reenactment of the civil war and I can have each student comment one fact about the side they have been working with.  Please any other ideas........

Until next time, keep it real homies!

  1. This is a great way to incorporate your students into your learning and having them also use or learn, which ever the case would be, about blogging. Have you had any students look at your blog yet? Also, the type of school I come from, many of the students do not have computers or internet access at home because of economical issues. How do you have these issues and how do you over come them?

  2. I like the way you are starting to incorporate your blog to your classroom. You are giving your students incentive and opportunity to participate on your blog. Will your students have the opportunity to blog while they are at school? I know many schools don’t have the resources or time to allow this. I saw that blogs have a survey gadget. In addition to students commenting on their assignment, students can take a quick and fun survey about something relevant to them. This could be another incentive for students to go to your blog.
