Using the GAME Plan with students

Using the GAME Plan with students

Using my game plan should be fairly easy with my students year after year.  The more I use my plan the better it becomes.  I can work out the kinks each year.  This year my students have surely responded to the plan in an open arms type of way.  Sure I still had some students who hated the idea of me in general let alone all the assignments I assigned, but overall this is working great.

This plan will help students achieve their goals and help them each and every year after.  It teaches them to focus on creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, citizenship, research, and technology operations.

Not only have the students learned to promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness, they have nearly mastered it.  This has been a great year and great class.

  1. Setting a pattern for your students to always follow (the GAME plan) will prepare your students for future work and school years. This plan will also work well in getting organized for college classes and if they get into the habit now, they'll be ready when the time comes.

  2. I think staying with a plan and having regular expectations helps students stay organized. When students know what to expect they do not get as easily frustrated due to lack of good directions, they already know what you expect and what is going to happen. I like the GAME plan because it forces me to reflect on what I need to change and what went well. Once I reflect on a lesson making needed changes seems easier.

  3. Hi Joe,
Sometimes a new plan is challenging to get familiar with, but I find that most students eventually see the value a GAME plan has in problem solving and self-directedness. It can make for an excellent foundation on which to anchor new skills.

I am glad you enjoyed the class.

    Thanks for sharing.
